False positive results may occur due to systemic lupus erythematosus, leprosy, brucellosis, atypical pneumonia, typhus, yaws, pinta, or pregnancy. Monitoring of RPR is helpful in assessing effectiveness of therapy. If RPR screen is reactive, RPR Titer and Fluorescent Treponemal Antibody (FTA) Confirmatory testing will be performed.
